This grade of stainless steel offers corrosion resistance, high strength and hardness up to 300 degree Celsius and 572 degrees Fahrenheit. It is due to the additions of Nb/Cb and Cu in them. Performing heat treatment on this metal optimal and desired mechanical property is incorporated into Stainless Steel 17-4PH Circle. However, stainless steel of this grade does not work desirably at the temperature above 572 degrees Fahrenheit or 300 degree Celsius. They are not also suitable to be used at low temperatures. On the other hand, this metal offers corrosion resistance against diluted acids and atmospheric corrosion. This quality is equivalent to 430 or 304 alloys.

Stainless Steel 17-4PH Circle can withstand corrosive attacks In comparison to other stainless steel circles that are hardened and not made of 17-4Ph steel. The higher aging temperature should be 1094 degrees Fahrenheit or 594 degrees Celsius to prevent them from the risk of stress corrosion. To be used in chloride media, the temperature should be550 degree Celsius or 1022 degree Fahrenheit which is the optimum range of temperature.
